The relatively unknown artist Moby has released a new EP with the main track being the pulsing Be The One. If you are willing to give up your email address, you can get the release for free on moby.com, otherwise, it is also available for purchase. If you’ve ever wanted Mr. “Melville” to stare at you for 5 minutes, then the music video will light your fire.

This week we have a track from 2007, but it could have come from 1937. Klaus Waldeck’s Ballroom Stories is wonderful through and through, but the former copyright lawyer brings something vivid and fresh from the past to the cut Midsummer Night Blues. As toe tapping as the Ruins will permit.

Caribou: "Sun (Midland Edit)"
Today we have a semi-official remix of a track off of Canadian based Caribou’s Swim release. Remixed by Leeds based Midland, this rendition adds a bit more focus and beat to the original, which is also excellent.

Houses: "Soak It Up"
The couple that makes up the group Houses managed to escape from the Ruins and absconded away to the islands of Hawaii to make this soothing track off their debut album All Night. We can only enjoy the haunting sounds as we remain stuck here in the Ruins.

Glasser: "Apply"
Definitely a Jason Bentley favorite (he was Tweeting last weekend about listening to her on his Sunday morning soundtrack), Glasser has this fantastic trippy track Apply off her EP by the same name. The EP also has other great tracks like the John Talbot remix of Learn. You can definitely imagine hearing this on the melodic streets of Metropolis…

This Is Dubstep - Volume 3 was released last week as a 2 disc set with a number of awesome tracks. This is the penultimate track on disk 2, and like the rest of the collection, drops in some killer bass beats. The Australian group The Townhouses released this track Snowtown on their debut album Islands, which is available for free download. It’s a great down-tempo track, highlighting the wonderful music coming out from Down Under.

Chemical Brothers: "Dissolve"
Earlier this summer the always consistently amazing Chemical Brothers dropped their most recent album adventure which they titled Further. And somehow, they did manage to go further into the ruins than they have before. Dissolve is perhaps the standout track on the album, though many other cuts are fantastic, such as K+D+B. We recommend checking out the music videos which were made for each track....

Massive Attack: "Paradise Circus" (Gui Boratto...
Massive Attack’s latest album, Heligoland, has produced some great tracks like Splitting The Atom, and the sexy, haunting vocals from Hope Sandoval in Paradise Circus. Here, Brazilian producer Gui Boratto adds some more trip hop in his remix that sounds even more like Massive Attack than the original.

This remix, which was released last month by UK DJ Julio Bashmore, drops in some dirty bass and distortion into Zero 7’s track Ghost Symbol off their 2009 album Yeah Ghost. Julio is pretty well known for adding his driving bass to remixes.

Radio Citizen: "The Hop (featuring Bajka)"
Can the ruins provide something upbeat, yet still gritty? Radio Citizen’s The Hop delivers exactly that. The entire album, Berlin Serengeti, is quite ruinous as well. And that’s a good thing.
